Whatsup family? Its been such a long time since the launch of this site that a corny Welcome back! doesn't seem fit. So much has evolved around the Elevated Nation and Underachiever world since then that its pretty mind boggling why I haven't taken back to one of my passions; writing and sharing information, which is the reason that I even rap in the first place. So well just skip the entrance line for another post and go straight to what you all want. The knowledge. If there one thing that alot of you have requested it was that we take back up to this site, seeing as it seemed to be a quiet promising endeavor, though we haven't really even gotten it off the ground as of yet. Briefly Ill reintroduce the site and then jump right into the number one thing I think you all want , the BOOK SELECTIONS. Expect alot of these posts.
So were here now. Elevated Nations. What the hell is this website? Well you've most likely heard our music by now if your here and if so you've probably conjured up some questions along the lines of
a. Are these guys really about this conscious shit?
b. Where the fuck did they find out about all this sick shit
c. Well they talk a good game, what is there plan of action? .
The answer to these questions and more will be answered throughout the pages of this site. The original purpose of this site was to serve as a home for all light bearers to come too to just straight up get good shit, without having to filter through loads of bull shit. This is where I want to disperse information and build a community of like minded individuals to share our thoughts and opinions. A place where conscious good opinions can be posted, about topics across the board, from a perspective that our generation can understand. This was my answer, to build an Elevated Nation. A legal entity in todays society that can help aide in the enlightenment of our generation, and to also serve as an outlet for people who really find our music interesting to get more into conscious matters.
This site isn't going to be your normal gay blog posting the latest Balenciaga releases, or latest Plies booty shaking videos. Expect to come here and find the shit that you would want to read I want this to become one of the most influential, loved sites on the web, and not for me. If my vision for where this can evolve too is true, then what the future holds for us all once this gets of the ground properly will be excellent for our society. I want to create a platform for all of us to enjoy.
Its insane because honestly, to take a look back and see where we were at the beginning of this site, and the amount of change that has happened since is ridiculous. We have been completely living and experiencing the exact things that I plan to share on this site 10xs fold. We have been creators of our reality, and not only by knowing the knowledge but applying it. I believe that the site took a hiatus for good reason. Now we are serving as muses, examples, that together we can change the world. Lets start creating.
So now to the books. I believe that the best way for someone to learn information is for them to digest the knowledge themselves. Its one thing when someone tells you some shit, but its another when you learn it and understand it yourself. There is no other form better for sharing information than reading, its been a staple in our society for centuries. There is no question why reading is still fundamental across the board, it is the most efficient way for one to quietly digest information to himself. There is so much I can tell you. I would rather help show you the way and let you pull the truth from it yourself.
By creating this book club I believe that in due time the archives can be filled with not just recommendations from myself, but books from you guys. I want everyone to be involved in building this site into something that we call can get good information from. So lets begin why don't we
For todays post I want to start with two of the most influential , and easy to read books that I have ever dived into in my life. THE CELESTINE PROPHECY by James Redfield, and THE ALCHEMIST by Paul Coehlo. These are Gods. Books. I had the privilege of reading these when I was 17 years old. Completely changed my perspective on life.
Lets start with The Alchemist, which is actually a world renowned book written by Paul Coehlo. Its a fictional book that follows the journey of a young explorer by then name of Santiago that takes a trip across the desert in hopes of discovering treasure that he has been told was promised to him . Ironically enough, the treasure he must find is hidden in the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids (hint), and that just so happens to be on the other side of the planet basically for the young traveler. But through perseverance, and learning many lessons along the way the boy goes on a journey to find his 'personal treasure" whether that be gold, or his soul. ;
)
Santiago meets many interesting characters throughout the book on his journey across the desert, and every one of them has a specific lesson for him to learn. Each one of these lessons helps him understand what is really to be treasured on this planet, the gold inside of oneself. See: The Underachievers - GOLD SOUL THEORY (lol)
Now the thing to remember with this book it is quite a fictional tale. But there is a very deep secret hidden inside the book, it contains a key that all of us need in our lives. Personally for me after reading this book I was compelled to persue my dreams. To stop living in society's boundaries and live my own life, because we really do only have one life (that we remember at a time?) and we must enjoy it. The book was a driving force in me stepping out of the box and deciding that I was going to live life for myself, and not the way society wants us to run the rat race. It also teaches about the Law Of Attraction and creating your own reality and destiny, outside of whatever society may tell you you are to do. Fuck em. Live your damn life.
How do I think the book can help you? Well it helped me start persuing my own " Personal Legend" as Santiago did in the book. It literally shifted my mentality from one that believes, to one that knows. The thing that I love about these books is that you may not so much learn a lesson. But you will definitely be inspired and motivated to move forward with whatever endeavors you want. It is quiet empowering to the soul. Check it out, if you read it leave a comment.
So next up we got one of my personal favorites, The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. Once again, easy fucking read, but packed with enough motivation and inspiration to change anyone. This is actually the book that influenced me to say fuck school and try to live life out the usual rat race. Try to beat the system, ya know? try some revolutionary shit. Why not? I believe that in the future this book can serve as an excellent starting point for people of all ages to help change their perspective on the ever evolving world around us.
James Redfiled is a light worker who has actually made it his life mission, as many of us have, to help lead our family into our destiny. Hes written other books, but this one is definitely the most inspiring one of them all because it is fictional, and allows people of all different reading caliburs to pull something special from its pages.
Well similar to The Alchemist the Celestine Prophecy follows the journey of a young explore named John, who after a series of "coincidences" finds himself traveling across the planet to Peru, following his intuition, to help discover the mystery behind 9 ancient scrolls said to posses what was necessary to change the world. Pretty awesome scrolls I know. What actually begins to happen in the book is he lives the scrolls while discovering them. The 9 Scrolls, known as the 9 insights are keys to unlocking your mind and creating your own reality. They can help you all start to treat life as a game with patterns rather than a coincidental chaotic place. I don't want to get to much into the book but this is a good one. Im going to briefly introduce the first 4 insights, and leave the rest for you.
Insight 1: THERE ARE NO SUCH THINGS AS COINCIDENCES. This is beyond true. If you guys can start to tweak your reasoning from viewing the world as a coincidental place, and start to see that everything really does happen for a reason you can change your reality. The world is built for you to succeed, and it will continuously throw things in your way to help you along, its just a matter of realizing that these things that we once considered coincidences, are really just signs. If you can learn to read the signs, you can learn the pattern, and if you learn the pattern, you can beat and control the game.
Insight 2: FINAL CHANGE IN PERSPECTIVE IS ON US: Basically this insight is about our history and how it led us to where we are now the final point. The first half of the millennium was spent discovering God in a sense, because we didn't have any scientific tools to learn rationally about the world. That was the first step. Then the second step was the scientific revolution where we started to realize that we can learn about the world around us we don't just have to think that some hierarchy is in control of us. This is where started to destroy the world and just try and use it to the maxium ability. We messed up big time and look where were at now, wars, money hungry fucks, and lost souls. Both of these methods did not work. Now were at the final stage. We've fucking done all the science we wanted, and all it taught us is that there is some sort of higher intelligence that has to have been in control of this whole shit. The change is now because we realized in order to move forward, we have to unite both perspectives.
Insight 3 and Insight 4: UNDERSTANDING ENERGIES: These two insights are about discovering the energy that governs over all things, and realizing that as a species we are always in competition over this energy. This energy can easily be characterized as simply Love or Karma to be easily understood but it is the force that keeps all things in balance. Once one can realize this force (insight 3) and then realize how it is applied to his life and make changes to it (insight 4) he can become apart of the flow of the world and everything will work for him. This energy is unlimited and exist everywhere and is for all, no need to fight over it. Sick shit man.
Now I am noting here, there is a movie made out on the book. I never seen it and I'm sure it sucks and all the screen shots from this post are from the movie yes but read the book. Then watch the movie. I may actually check it out tonight out of boredom. We all know how saturated movies can get, especially when based on a book. Read the book. Digest the book. Let it into your conscious awareness. This is really the book that did it for me, Ive read countless amounts of books before and after this one, ones way more complex but this one was a complete perspective changer. Check it out family I'm sure you ll enjoy these two for real.
So fuck yeah thats the end of this post. I plan on making more through the week to keep the ball rolling trust me its going to get better, much more fun, and bigger. Shoutouts to my brother Edd Powell the designer of this site and the Elevated Nations clothing line. Love the kid knew him for years hes actually the designer behind the Marino weed tees everyone loves. Big shoutouts to him all the way out in London, and shoutouts to all our Europe family see you guys soon man!

Hey if you enjoyed the alchemist then you should read Siddhartha, written in 1922. Great post, looking forward to upcoming ones.
ReplyDeleteDope post. I have read The Alchemist after so many of my homie telling me to read the book. It was a dope story and a great way to relate the message. I read this after i read the Secret and found it to be a lil more insightful. I see there are a lot of book about the law of attraction and how it can really effect your life. After readingthis book i took some of those ideas into play, and really started to try setting my mind to doing what i want, and block out all the negative thoughts i could (its hard when surrounded by lots of negativity), but it worked. I liked the book so much that i found it on audio format and let my kids listen to it, and they enjoyed the book as well.
ReplyDeleteI will get a hold of The Celestine Phrophecy, and post my reactions to it once im done.
I been following your music, and been wondering what you guys been reading cuz yah not talking bout the everyday things people rapping bout.
Good stuff, guess I'm part of the book club now. Can't wait for the next selections.
I'm about half way through The Alchemist right now. Great message, and one that everyone can relate to!
ReplyDeleteThe underachievers are the future of the world. nuff said.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this Issa, looking forward to many more elevated posts :)

I started reading these books!
ReplyDeleteI have to get these books asap! great post, thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo I read The Celestine Prophecy first, I really dig a lot of thoughts in this book and feel like it put some idea's I subconsciously had into words. The main idea that I had really noticed is the amount of energy one can get from old growth forest areas, living in Portland Oregon I try to get out into areas like this frequently anyways and have always noticed how much more energetic I feel and more at peace, similar to spending time at the ocean. Overall this book was great and made me really think more about overall energy and how it transfers. my only problem with the book is how they try to bring it back to Christianity, I understand why the author would want to appeal to more people and not want to offend but why try to teach the truth using someone else's lies? my opinion though.
ReplyDeleteThe Alchemist I enjoyed reading a little bit more the The Celestine Prophecy. This book really helps me with not stressing over when shit doesn't work out because the overall view of things is that if I was doing everything right then it was supposed to happen and for good reason. I feel like I've had experiences like that a lot in my life and really notice it now. Again though I don't see why they had to bring in Christianity to the mix.
Overall I enjoyed reading both books quite a bit and learned a lot from both that I'm applying to my every day life. Maybe for the next book suggestions you could do one shorter book like these and maybe one longer slightly more intellectual book for the wait between the next recommendations? Just a thought. Either way can't wait to read what you guys suggest next. Also what are your thoughts on the Diamond Sutra, The Ramayana and The Bhagavadita? those are the books I'm working through at the moment and definitely getting a lot of knowledge from all.
And Issa Dash I don't know if you already listen to Daniel Rossen or Department of Eagles but both are kind of side projects from the guys in Grizzly Bear, seems like you would love their music. Poor Moon is a side project of some of the guys of Fleet Foxes you might dig that. Also Joanna Newsom if you haven't heard her you cen tell she's hugely influenced Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes. Can't wait for the mixtape, getting us closer to an evolved mindset rather then the primitive one organized religion has kind of forced on us, thank you.
This summer i was introduced to yalls music and more importantly yalls message and realized yall were on another level that i found to be refreshing in the midst of the everyday hype. listened to the music closely and began doing a lot of research along with much self reflection. Read both of these books this month and they were all that i was looking for. Both offered unique routes to interpret ones life purpose. I will continue to check out the website frequently and stay updated. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
